Visiting the Filming Location Featured in Cafe Minamdang

Visiting the filming location featured in Cafe Minamdang is one of the best things I’ve done as a fan. Wanna know why?

Cafe Minamdang was one of the dramas I’ve been hooked on aside from Extraordinary Attorney Woo and Alchemy of Souls. They are all released last June and also completed the series already.

Cafe Minamdang [๋ฏธ๋‚จ๋‹น] is a Monday and Tuesday drama from KBS2. Starring Seo In-guk, Oh Yeon-soo, Kwak Si-yang, Kang Mi-na and Baek Seo-hoo.

About the Drama

The story of the drama is about Nam Han-jun (Seo In-guk) a former criminal profiler. He has been wrongly accused and sent to prison but was later released and works as a fraudster. He pretends to be a fortune teller and scams his customers with money. Although he also help them to solve their problems. To fulfill the services he works together with Su-Cheol and his sister Nam Hye-jun, who’s a good hacker.

One day, Han Jae Hee (Oh Yeon-seo) who works as a detective got involved with Nam Han-jun. And the rest is history!

If you haven’t seen the drama, sorry if I spoil you! Anyway, let’s go to the main topic of this post, the filming location featured in the drama Cafe Minamdang.

Minamdang & Bebeco [๋ฏธ๋‚จ๋‹น & ๋ฐฐ๋ฐฐ๊ผฌ]: Filming Location of Cafe Minamdang

When I’ve seen the first two episodes of the drama I decided to check the featured filming location. In the drama, it’s called Cafe Minamdang and in real life, it’s Minamdang & Bebeco. A two-story cafe that serves mouth-filling donuts, coffee, juices, teas, and many more.

Minamdang & Bebeco is located in the Hongdae and opens from 11:00 am up to 10:00 pm. It gain more popularity after being featured in the drama and many fans of Seo In-guk also visited the cafe.

Exterior and Interior

The cafe’s exterior is noticeable since it is painted orange and blue with light bulbs which are really instagrammable. The exterior was seen from episode 1 up to the last since it’s the main cafe and house of Seo In-guk in the drama. A few shots inside the cafe were featured in some episodes.

1st floor

On the first floor, you’ll see the blue and orange colors the same as the exterior of the cafe. The floor is not that stylish like the second floor but it perfectly matches the design of the chairs, tables, and walls.

The counter is also on the first floor where customers can easily order. They also have a self-ordering machine which is really famous in Korea these days. They also offer take-outs, group orders, and catering.

2nd floor

The second floor also has different vibes from the first floor. It has more of a feminine color of yellow, pink, purple, and white. Although, the original motif color (orange and blue) is still present.

At the other corner, there’s also a huge donut that you can see when you are outside the cafe.

Menu and Prices

As I’ve mentioned above Minamdang & Bebeco is a cafe that serves donuts, cake, pie, pastries, coffee, and non-coffee beverages.

The cafe’s menu price ranges from 4,000 won up to 7,000 won which is I think not too expensive like other cafes. Also, they have a unique menu which I really love.

When I visited with Karla last September 3, we tried their best seller’s Milk-flavored donut (์šฐ์œ ํ๋‹น๋„๋„›) and Real Mango Ice tea.

I’ve tried so many donuts in Seoul but this one is best for me. Not too sweet and not too bland. The portion of filling and size of bread is perfect for me. The ice tea blended well with its name ‘Real Mango’ because it has tidbits of mango which is very appealing to me.

On my first visit last July 6, I actually ordered Hibiscus Cherry tea and Potato Bacon pastry. I also received a gift from the cafe when I joined their Instagram follow event.

K-drama ‘Cafe Minamdang’ Corner

The first time I visited the cafe they already put some memorabilia from the Korean drama Cafe Minamdang. Photos of the actors with their autographs hanging on the wall of the cafe. The table and chair used by Seo In-guk from the first episode were also kept in the cafe.

I also went last September 3 with Travel with Karla and to our surprise, we experienced a different level of fangirling.

If you will compare the photo above and the recent ones they’ve added the chair and fan used by Seo In-guk in the drama while pretending to be a fortune teller. A lifesize standee of him, and some stuff from fans club and from the drama.
