Visiting the Seoul Brand Partners Pop-up store in Hongdae was so awesome!! Wanna know why? Keep reading and I’ll tell you the story!
Last November 11, I saw a post from Seoul Haechi’s Instagram that they were opening the Seoul Brand Partners pop-up store in Hongdae until November 21. I haven’t been able to visit earlier because of my busy schedule. So before the event ends I decided to visit with my son yesterday.
But before that, I would like to share with you some information about Seoul Brand. What does it mean and what does it do.
What is Seoul Brand?
Seoul Brand is known as the city branding which started in 2007. Its main goal is to introduce the idea of city marketing and to attract foreign tourists. Since it started, t actually attracted million of foreign tourists all over the world.
In 2002, the city’s brand was Hi Seoul and they added the word Soul of Asia in 2006. In 2009, it was changed to Infinitely Yours, Seoul, and Seoul, My [ ] in 2012.
This time the city’s brand is I SEOUL U that carries the meaning of between you and I there is Seoul. The red dot means passion and the blue dot means relaxation. If you will notice the letter O is written in Korean Alphabet O which looks like the handle of a Korean traditional door. Therefore, I SEOUL U means like an invitation for us to visit Seoul and walk together.
What is Seoul Brand Partners?
Seoul Brand Partners was built to make partnership with private business that creates icons and items that represents the city of Seoul. Selected companies will be able to gain some benefits like workshops for business networking, expert consultation, and coaching. Next to that, pop-up stores will operate and will get support from SMG’s distribution platform and SNS marketing.
What to see from the Pop-Up Store?
Visiting the pop-up store at 8810 Ristretto in Hongdae made me see the different types of branded products that collaborated with Seoul Brand Partners this year. The pop-up store started operating last November 11 and will end today.
It has been divided into different zones such as stationery, food and beverage, fashion, home living, and interior.
They also set up a special zone for the Haechi (Seoul’s iconic mythical creature) dolls and figures.
Aside from the products that they sell at the pop-up store they also have an event for SNS marketing. Take a photo at the pop-up store’s photo zone and upload it in your SNS with the provided hashtags.
My son and I joined the two events that they have and we got so many gifts. We’ve got a set of Haechi dolls, pens, tumblers, and shirts. I wanted to buy the Haechi canvass bag but they said it was not for sale.
Badge Pin Making Event
They also have a corner where you can able to make your own badge pin. The staffs are really friendly and accomodating and they even helped my son in making the pins. He enjoyed it and ended up making 4 badge pins.
Naver Shopping Live
In addition to that, Seoul Brand Partners also set up a Naver Shopping live where customers can buy the stuff online. The products are really unique and something that can keep or give as a special gift to our loved ones and friends. I really wish that this pandemic will end soon so that you guys can visit Korea too.
