2021 Seoul Lantern Festival is coming and here are the new things to know about the festival this coming November 26.

Every November of each year, Seoul celebrates the lightning of lanterns which brightens the dark. This festival is called Seoul Lantern Festival (μ„œμšΈλΉ›μ΄ˆλ‘±μΆ•μ œ). The first time I’ve seen the festival was in 2016 and I never thought that it was really famous to locals and even foreigners.

What is Seoul Lantern Festival?

The Seoul Lantern Festival (μ„œμšΈλΉ›μ΄ˆλ‘±μΆ•μ œ) is a festival held every November with different themes in Seoul which started in 2009. Every year this festival there are about 3 million visitors who come and join the Seoul Lantern Festival. I can say that it’s the best lantern festival experience ever.

There are hundreds of beautiful and colorful lanterns lighted with LEDs displayed in the longest stream in Seoul, the Cheonggyecheon (from Cheonggye Plaza to Supyo Bridge).

Last year, the festival was held in Seoul’s Special Tourist Zones like Itaewon, Myeongdong, Dongdaemun, and Jamsil.
