Kdrama Review: 5 Reasons to Watch Psycho But It’s Okay
1. The story and genre are interesting
Psycho But Its Okay story shows Mental Health awareness especially for those who are suffering from trauma-related disorders, substance abuse disorders, mood disorders, ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), and others. This drama is an eye-opener to everyone that not all who are suffering from these disorders can’t have a normal life. They are also human and it’s not their fault to be that way. So we need to give them extra care and understanding. It’s tiring but everything will be fine in the end.
The genre of this drama is a mix of romance, drama, comedy, and humor.
2. The cinematography and OST’s are excellent
I love how this drama created their visual effects and how they use books to visualize the content of the drama. Have you seen the house of Ko Moon Young? It’s just actually the front door and the other exterior parts of her house where a visual effect.
I also love the filming locations that they used in this drama though they’re too far. It’s really compatible with its genre and story since they’re featuring relaxing views and beautiful landscapes. I also got the chance to visit one of the main filming locations which is the Psychiatric Hospital in Gangwondo. You may check the details here, Secret Blue Cafe | Psycho But It’s Okay Filming Location.
I also love the drama’s OST which leads me to have my own copy to listen to every day. Even the drama ends I will still be in the Last Song Syndrome mood.
3. The casts are extraordinary
Psycho But It’s Okay’s casts are very extraordinary. From the protagonists Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Yeji plus the unexceptional character of Oh Jung-se. Adding to the list of characters the ‘Pambansang Omma’ Kim Mi-Kyung, Kim Chang Wan ( the Director of the Psychiatric Hospital), Kim Joo-hun ( the CEO of Sangsangyisang Publishing Company), Jang Young-nam (the head nurse at the hospital), Park Jin-joo (the art director but most of the times assistant of the CEO), and Kang Ki-dong as the friend that we wish to have.
4. The chemistry of the main characters
It’s the first time that we Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Yeji together and their chemistry on the screen gave us so much ‘kilig’. Some of the fans are shipping them because they really look alike. Without a doubt, these two are perfectly beautiful.
5. It shared so many life lessons
Aside from the cast, ost, cinematography, the other thing that we viewers are always waiting for our the lessons that we can learn from watching every drama. And this drama gave us so many life lessons that we can apply to our daily lives. You can read the 10 Life Lessons from Psycho But It’s Okay that I have written a month ago.
Reflection and Recommendation
This drama made me realize so many things like taking care of my mental, physical and emotional health. Pscyho But It’s Okay taught me that it’s okay to not be okay. That it’s okay to take a break, that’s fine to cry when things get heavy. This drama made me realize that no matter how we push other people to leave us and go away if they love us they’ll never leave.
Also, the family is not just about blood. It’s about the people who are there for you in good and bad times. Lastly, I’ve learned that if we want the people around us to be happy, we must find our happiness first. Did you enjoy watching this drama too? Share your thoughts too.
