Crash Landing on You or 사랑의 불시착 is one of the Korean dramas that hits the viewer’s heart this year 2020. Starring a North Korean Officer Lee Jeong Hyeok  (Hyun Bin) and a South Korean heiress Yoon Se-ri (Son Ye Jin). 

This drama is about a woman who accidentally crash-lands in North Korea while paragliding.  She met a North Korean army officer who will help her safely return to South Korea. Overtime. they fell in love with each other despite the division in their both countries. The drama will end this weekend and if you haven’t watched it, try to watch it now before I spoil you!

The drama has amazing and unique filming locations and I really wanted to visit all of them but I know I need to have enough time due to my busy schedule.

1. Wolfgang’s Steak House [울프강 스테이크하우스]

Featured in Episode 1 where Yoon Se-ri went to have dinner with one of her boyfriends, Cha Sang-u (cameo by Jung Kyoung-ho).

Wolfgang’s Steak House [울프강 스테이크하우스] is located in Cheongdam, in the Gangnam District. It is 5 minutes walk from Apgujeongrodeo Station.

2. Star City Seoul [스타시티빌딩]

This restaurant bar in Seoul appears in episode 8 of the drama as a restaurant in North Korea where Seo Dan and Gu Seung-Jung meet up.  Located in Cheonho-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, and an 8-minute walk from Cheonho Station ( Seoul Subway Line 5 or 8).

How to get here: Cheonho Station [천호역], Seoul Subway Line 5 and Line 8, Exit 2 (8 minutes walk)

3. Subway 독립점

In Episode 12, Jeong Man-bok was gathering information about Seri at the Subway restaurant and that day Seri was there too but they never met each other.

How to get here: Dongnimmun Station (독립문역), Line 3, Exit 3 (302 meters away from the Subway)

4. DDMC [동아디지털미디어센터]

This building is featured as Yoon Se-ri’s office building Seri’s Choice in the drama after returning from North Korea. She unexpectedly arrives while her sister-in-law was trying to take over her company at the board meeting.

DDMC is located in Sangam-dong in Mapu-gu where you can find the famous Digital Media City.

How to get here: Take Seoul Subway Line 6 going to Digital Media City Station [디지털미디어시티역], exit via 9.

5. Gongwonjang [공원장]

Gongwonjang [공원장] is a restaurant that serves classic South Korean cuisine located in  Yonghyeon, Nam-gu at Incheon. This place was seen in Episode 10 along with the cameo of Kim Soo Hyun (a North Korean spy in the movie Secretly Greatly)  where he met the four underlings of Ji Ri Jeong-Hyeok including Pyo Chi-su, Park Kwang-beom, Kim Ju-meok, and Geum Eun-dong as well as Jung Man-bok.

How to get here: Jemulpo Station [제물포역], Seoul Subway Line 1, Exit A2/14 (Jemulpo Underground Shopping Center)  Walk ahead to Namjung School bus stop [남중학교 정류장] and take the bus No.  517 or  519 and take off at Subong Park Terminal bus stop [수봉공원 종점 정류장].  Cross the road and walk ahead towards Subongnam-ro 18-beongil [수봉남로18번길] till you reach the restaurant.

TIP: But if you are having a hard time following directions just take a taxi and say or give the address to the taxi driver.

6. Angels in Us Coffee Shop Suwon Branch

The coffee shop where Yoon Se-ri and Lee Jeong Hyeok went after they met on the street of Cheongdam in episode 10.

How to get here: Take the light train from Seoul Station to Suwon Station and from Suwon Station take the Bundang Line and take off at Suwon City Hall Station exit 9. Walk for about 7 minutes until you reach the cafe.

7. Pocheon Hantangang Sky Bridge [한탄강하늘다리]

The Pocheon Hantangang Sky Bridge [한탄강하늘다리] is seen in episode 13 of the drama where Yoon Se-ri and Lee Jeong Hyeok went. 

The bridge is a 200 m-long skywalk that was built 50m above ground and opened last on 13 May 2018, is located in the village Daehoesan-ri in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province.

8. Binhaewon Chinese Restaurant

In Episodes 11 and 12, this old Chinese Restaurant from Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do Province was featured. In Episode 11, Lee Jeong Hyeok went here and faced a number of gangsters while in episode 12, Seri went here and bought the restaurant and asked the tenants to find Jo Cheol-kang.

This time this restaurant has been registered as a national cultural heritage site no. 723 of Korea.

9. North Korean Village [분한마을]

This place in Taean at Chungcheongnam-do appears as the North Korean Village in the drama in which the first part of the drama has been taken while Se-ri and Lee Jeong Hyeok were still in the village.

How to get here: Take a bus from the Seoul terminal in Gangnam going to Taean and after arriving there it’s better to take a taxi going to Moseokwon pension house. NOTE: taxi fare is a bit expensive so better come as a group so you can at least divide the fare to each other.

NOTE: Sad but this filming location has been closed as of today (2020.2.14)

10. Binae Island, Chungju

The four soldiers went together with Seri in episode 6 on this island that appears in North Korea while Lee Jeong Hyeok went to fix a motorcycle that he will use as he plans to secretly follow Seri and his soldier going to the airport.

11. Hallasan National Park ( Jeju Island)

The famous tourist spot from Jeju was seen in the first episode of the drama when Yoon Se-ri accidentally crash-lands in the DMZ  while paragliding.

Hallasan National Park is one of the most remarkable landmarks in Jeju as it is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites.

12. Cheongsan Arboretum [청산수목원]

As seen in episode 4 of the said drama where Ri Jeong-hyeok (Hyun Bin) riding his bike but keeps from coming back and forth and pretends that he’s not waiting for Yoon Se-ri. Se-ri asked him if she can ride on the front of the bike and go home together.

Cheongsan Arboretum [청산수목원] is a botanical garden located in Taean and formerly known as the Green Rich Farm. The garden is also famous during spring for its famous Taean Lotus festival, pink muhly, and pampass grass.
