Why Autumn is the Best Season of the Year?

Wondering why autumn is the best and the most favorite season of all people? Thinking about what to wear and why do the leaves change their color then fall? Here’s why!

Friends of mine usually asked when is the best time to travel to Korea. I always answer fall is the best season amongst the rest. Even though I like spring and winter, still autumn is magical and something different. There’s a beauty in every leaf that falls.

Why Autumn is the Best Season of the Year?

After the intense heat of summer, the cool weather arrives. It’s not the same as the coldness of winter but it’s the season that makes you feel warm during the day and cool during the night. It’s autumn.

Autumn is my favorite season where every leaf reveals its beauty in a unique way. The leaves changes in different colors like red, purple, orange, and yellow. It will make you fall in love even from the last leaf that will fall into the land.

It’s also the perfect time for outdoor activities like mountain hikes.

Although autumn is the shortest season among the 3 seasons of Korea still it gives a great and perfect picture to everyone who sees it and experiences how beautiful it is. I actually listed some of my favorite autumn spots, you may check Best Autumn Destinations in South Korea.

What do causes leave to turn color in the fall?

The mixture of red, purple, orange, and yellow is the result of chemical processes that take place in the tree as the seasons change from summer to winter. During the spring and summer, the leaves have served as factories where most of the foods necessary for the tree’s growth are manufactured. This food-making process takes place in the leaf in numerous cells containing chlorophyll, which gives the leaf its green color. This extraordinary chemical absorbs from sunlight the energy that is used in transforming carbon dioxide and water to carbohydrates, such as sugars and starch. Along with the green pigment are yellow to orange pigments, carotenes, and xanthophyll pigments which, for example, give the orange color to a carrot. Most of the year these colors are masked by great amounts of green coloring.

Why do leaves fall in autumn?

Evergreen can hang on their leaves even in winter but autumn leaves must fall. Since deciduous plants lose their leaves to conserve water or to better survive winter weather conditions, they must regrow new foliage during the next suitable growing season; this uses resources that evergreens do not need to expend.

What to wear during autumn?

This season makes you take out your fashionable outfit in your closets like boots and great jackets or sweaters. To add for extra chicness and warmth scarf & beanies are perfect too.
