Do you know that there’s a place in Seoul that is called House of Cartoon which is full of comics and manga books? It is located on the first floor of the Seoul Animation Center.
Seoul Animation Center was built in 1999 and can be found in Korea’s number one tourist destination in the center of Seoul, Myeongdong. A building which houses different kinds of comics and animation characters where the whole family will enjoy. So if you love comic books, this place is the best to visit.
House of Cartoon at Seoul Animation Center
What to see inside?
When you enter the Seoul Animation Center you’ll see the Ani Picnic directly so you need to do a left turn and follow the stairs and you’ll reach the House of Cartoon. At House of Cartoon, there are so many comic books to read and honestly, it’s the best way to practice reading in Korean because you’ll easily understand what you are reading because of the images. If you can’t read Korean it’s not a problem because this place also offers some chairs, tables, and couches to rest whenever you want.
Another reason why I love the House of Cartoon is that it is free entrance. You don’t need to pay for anything and you can read comic books for free. Isn’t interesting? This animation center is also disabled-friendly which provided accessibly pathways, parking, and elevators.
It’s a friendly reminder that parking is not available except for handicapped visitors. The comic the cafe also allowed visitors to bring their drinks and not all reading materials cannon be borrowed. For more detailed information, you may ask the staff at the House of Cartoon upon arrival.
Upon visiting the Seoul Animation Center, I used a special discount card ‘Seoul One Pass’ from Discover Seoul Pass which you can use around Seoul and Gyeonggido. This special pass was specially launched to promote and energize Seoul’s tourism and safe tours especially this time of the pandemic.
You can also use the Seoul One Pass at Ani Picnic located on the second floor for a 30% discount. Ani Picnic is a place for kids where you can see the figures of Korea’s famous animation characters like Pororo and Friends, Hello Carbot and etc.

Wow! Bongga! Relaxing and watching cartoons at zero expense! ๐ Nanjan din ba si Pucca? ๐คฃ The books? Korean lahat? Walang english? Nagbabass din ako dati ng manga when I was in highschool. Kaso hind book, phone lang gamit ko. Mas maganda sana kung book, walang nag papop up na mga notifications. Daming distraction pag sa phone nagbabasa.
May mga activity din Mommy for kids? For free din? Or may additional fee?
Best regards,
