‘Love Alarm’ Filming Locations: A Must Visit

Have you been watching the Korean drama Love Alarm and wanna visit the filming locations? Here’s your guide! Keep reading! Most of the drama’s filming sites are filmed in Seoul. So don’t worry in this post I will share the filming sites where they filmed the drama.

Story of Love Alarm

Love Alarm or 좋아하면 울리는 is a Korean drama which starred Kim So-Hyun, Jung Ga-ram, and Song Kang. A romance television series aired on Netflix based on the webtoon of the same name by name by Chon Kye-young.

Love Alarm tells the story of a newly developed technology that enables users to discover love through an application. The application called Love Alarm notifies someone who uses the app whether someone with the vicinity of the 10-meter radius has romantic feelings for them.

The app was made by a high school student who suddenly disappeared. After 4 years the love alarm was seen in the sky and started to gain more users and anti-love alarm. Some people decided to use the app to show their feelings for the one they love and some killed themselves due to disappointment that no one rings their love alarm.

Aside from that, the story revolves around the 3 high school students;  Kim Jojo (Kim So-Hyun), Hwang Sun-O (Song Kang), and Lee Hye-Young (Jung Ga-ram).

Kim Jojo is a smart and pretty girl. Her parents died at a young age and were raised by her grandmother.  When her grandmother got sick she had no choice but to live with her aunt’s family with her cousin.

Hwang Sun-O is a model and from a wealthy family that lacks affection for each other. He fell in love with Kim Jojo despite knowing that his best friend Lee Hye-young likes Kim Jojo also. Lee Hye-young once downloaded the alarm and rings Kim Jojo’s love alarm and let her know about his feelings.  But after that, he deleted the app to let his friend Sun-O and Kim Jojo be together. After an incident happened in Jeju, Kim Jojo broke up with Sun-O.

After how many years, Hye-young saw Jojo and approached her. He still loves Jojo and this time he’s doing the old way to show her feelings to Jojo despite knowing that Jojo would never turn back the love he has for her.

Hwang Sun-O went o Kim Jojo also and asked her if she still loves him but her answer is still the same. The drama ended Part 1 (8 episodes) and viewers are still waiting for the second season.

‘Love Alarm’ Filming Locations

Hangyangdoseong (Seoul City Wall)

Address: 622-83 Changsin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul
How to get here:
Take Seoul Subway Line 1 going to Seoul Station and take exit 8 or Line 4 to Hoehyeon station and take exit 4.

Take the elevator from the Seoullo to the second floor and get off. Go in the right way and walk 200 meters. If you see the 남산공원 sign follow the stairs and you’ll the Seoul City Wall right away.

CU Buam-dong Branch

Address: 15 Baekseokdong-gil, Buam-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul  (서울 종로구 백석동길 15) (부암동 237-8)
How to get here: From Gyeongbukgung Bus Station take bus number 7212, 1021, and 7022 and get off ‘Entrance to Jahamun Tunnel’ [자하문터널입구.석파정].

After taking off the follow the direction going to the Seoul Museum and cross the street. Walk up to the Cafe Stammtisch and turn left and right you’ll see the Buamdong Chicken Way Chicken (부암동 가는길). The CU Buam-dong branch is next to this restaurant.

Buam-dong Way Chicken [부암동 가는길]

Address:서울 종로길 백석동 13
How to get here: From Gyeongbukgung Bus Station take bus number 7212, 1021, and 7022 and get off ‘Entrance to Jahamun Tunnel’ [자하문터널입구.석파정].

After taking off the follow the direction going to the Seoul Museum and cross the street. Walk up to the Cafe Stammtisch and turn left and right you’ll see the Buamdong Chicken Way Chicken (부암동 가는길).

Buam-dong Cheers

Address: Changuimunro-10gil, Buam-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul (서울 종로구 창의문로10길)
How to get here:
From Gyeongbukgung Bus Station take bus number 7212, 1021, and 7022 and get off ‘Entrance to Jahamun Tunnel’ [자하문터널입구.석파정].
After taking off the follow the direction going to the Seoul Museum and cross the street. Walk up to the Cafe Stammtisch and turn left and you’ll pass this place before reaching the CU Buam-dong branch.

Choong Ang High School [중앙고등학교]

Address: 1 Gye-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul (서울 종로구 창덕궁길 164) (계동 1)
How to get here: 
Seoul Subway Line 3, Anguk Station [안국역], take exit 3

Dongdaemun Design Plaza [동대문디자인플라자]

Address: 281 Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea (서울 중구 을지로 281)
How to get here: Seoul Subway Line 2, 4 and 5, Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station [동대문역사문화공원역], take exit 1

Seoul City Hall (Seoul Plaza)

Address: 110 Sejong-daero, Myeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul (서울특별시 중구 세종대로 110)
How to get here: Seoul Subway Line 1 or 2, City Hall Station, exit 5

Duksung Women’s University [덕성여자대학교]

Address: 50 Yulgok-ro 3-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul (서울 종로구 율곡로3길 50)
How to get here: Subway Line 3, Anguk Station, Exit 1. Walk along 4 Yulgok-ro 3-gil

National Folk Museum of Korea Bus Stop [국립민속박물관 버스정류장]

Address: National Folk Museum of Korea (국립민속박물관 버스정류장)
How to get here: Take a bus Jongno 11 (종로11) from Seoul City Hall bus station and take off here. If you want to do a little walk you can walk from Gyeongbukgung up to here. Another way is Gyeongbokgung Station (Seoul Subway Line 3), Exit 5.
